The Glamping Nomad

Welcome to The Glamping Nomad. These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings and hires made through our website and services at The Basin Campground, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, New South Wales.

By making a booking with The Glamping Nomad, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your reservation.

1. About The Glamping Nomad

The Glamping Nomad provides styled glamping bell tents and selected camping comforts, including bedding and lighting, at The Basin Campground.

Our service includes the delivery, setup and pack-down of your booked glamping accommodation, allowing you to enjoy your camping experience without bringing your own tent or camping equipment.

The Glamping Nomad is a separate business specialising in glamping at The Basin Campground.

2. Bookings and Reservations

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by The Glamping Nomad.

When making a booking, you are responsible for ensuring that the dates, package, number of tents and any additional hire items selected are correct.

A booking is considered confirmed once the required payment has been received and confirmation has been provided by The Glamping Nomad.

The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for the booking, payments and conduct of the guests associated with the reservation.

If you are booking on behalf of a group, school, family or private event, you are responsible for communicating these Terms and Conditions to all relevant guests.

3. Pricing and Hire Period

Our glamping packages are priced per tent and include two nights of hire.

The hire price is the same for one or two nights, as the setup, preparation and pack-down requirements remain the same for each booking.

Additional nights beyond the initial two-night hire period are charged at $110 per tent, per additional night, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

A minimum three-night hire applies to all long weekends.

Any additional hire items, upgrades or special arrangements will be charged at the rates displayed at the time of booking or otherwise agreed in writing.

All prices are in Australian dollars. Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be disclosed as required by law.

4. Camping Fees and National Park Reservations

The Glamping Nomad's tent hire fees do not include campground booking fees, park entry fees, ferry fares or other third-party costs unless expressly stated in your booking confirmation.

Guests are responsible for booking and paying their own campsite fees directly through NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), using the official booking system for The Basin Campground.

Your glamping tent reservation with The Glamping Nomad does not automatically reserve a campsite.

Guests must ensure they have a valid campground reservation for the same dates as their glamping booking and comply with all applicable NPWS rules, park conditions and directions.

The Basin Campground is accessible by boat or ferry, or on foot through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. There is no direct vehicle access for guests.

Guests are responsible for organising their own transport, allowing sufficient time for arrival and departure, and carrying any personal belongings they require during their journey.

5. Check-in and Check-out

Standard check-in is from 3:00 pm on the first day of your booking.

Standard check-out is by 10:00 am on the final day of your booking.

Alternative arrangements may be considered upon request but must be agreed with The Glamping Nomad in advance.

Early check-in or late check-out cannot be guaranteed and may incur additional charges where agreed.

Guests must vacate the tent by the agreed departure time to allow our team to prepare the accommodation for subsequent bookings.

6. Tent Setup and Included Items

Your selected glamping package includes the items and amenities specified in the package description at the time of booking.

Additional hire items, such as camping tables, chairs or an esky, are available where offered and must be selected or arranged in advance.

Please check your selected package carefully before completing your booking.

The Glamping Nomad reserves the right to substitute an item with a comparable alternative where necessary, provided this does not materially reduce the service promised to the customer.

7. Tent Care and Guest Responsibilities

Our tents and furnishings are carefully prepared for your comfort and enjoyment. We ask all guests to treat the equipment and surrounding environment with care.

Guests agree to:

  • Use the tent and supplied equipment responsibly and only for their intended purpose.

  • Keep the tent reasonably clean and free from rubbish.

  • Avoid smoking, naked flames, candles or other ignition sources inside the tent.

  • Follow all applicable fire restrictions and campground safety requirements.

  • Avoid bringing food and drinks into the tent, helping to prevent spills and protect wildlife.

  • Keep the tent zipped closed whenever leaving it, even for a short time.

  • Keep children under appropriate supervision around the tent and its equipment.

  • Report any damage, missing items or maintenance concerns to The Glamping Nomad as soon as possible.

The Basin is a natural environment where wildlife, including wallabies, may approach campsites and tents. Guests should not feed or disturb wildlife and should keep food securely stored in accordance with NPWS guidance.

Guests must not move the tent, alter its structure, remove furnishings or relocate equipment without prior permission.

8. Damage, Loss and Excessive Cleaning

Guests are responsible for damage to, or loss of, the tent, furnishings and equipment caused by their negligence, misuse or failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions, subject to applicable consumer law.

If damage, loss or cleaning beyond what would reasonably be expected from normal use occurs, The Glamping Nomad may seek to recover reasonable, documented costs directly attributable to the incident.

We will notify the booking contact of any proposed charges and provide supporting details where reasonably available.

Guests will not be charged for fair wear and tear or for damage for which they are not legally responsible.

Any bond or security deposit, where required, will be disclosed before the booking is confirmed, including the applicable amount and refund conditions.

9. Changes, Cancellations and Refunds

We understand that plans can change. If you need to amend or cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible using the contact details on our website.

Customer cancellations

The cancellation policy applicable to your booking will be provided at the time of reservation and forms part of your booking agreement.

Any cancellation fees, refund entitlements, notice periods and administrative charges will be applied in accordance with the policy disclosed at the time of booking and applicable Australian Consumer Law.

Changes to bookings

Requests to change booking dates, packages or tent numbers are subject to availability and may result in a price adjustment. Changes are not confirmed until acknowledged by The Glamping Nomad in writing.

Cancellations by The Glamping Nomad

If we are unable to provide your booked service, we will contact you as soon as reasonably practicable and explain the available options.

Where required by Australian Consumer Law, you will receive an appropriate remedy, which may include a refund or alternative arrangement.

Third-party campground bookings

Cancellations or changes to your tent hire booking do not automatically cancel or amend your separate NPWS campsite reservation. Guests must manage their campground reservation directly with NPWS and are subject to its separate booking and refund conditions.

10. Weather and Natural Conditions

The Basin is a natural campground, and weather conditions may change during your stay.

Our tents are designed for camping use, but they are not permanent buildings and cannot guarantee protection from every weather condition.

Guests must follow all safety instructions, park alerts, fire restrictions and directions issued by NPWS or other relevant authorities.

If severe weather, unsafe conditions, park closures or official directions prevent us from safely providing the booked service, we will contact affected guests and discuss the available options in accordance with our booking policy and applicable law.

The Glamping Nomad reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend a setup where reasonably necessary for safety or legal compliance.

Guests are encouraged to consider suitable travel insurance for transport, personal belongings and other costs that may not be covered by a glamping hire refund.

11. Safety and Use of the Campground

Guests must comply with all NPWS rules, campground regulations, posted notices and lawful directions from park staff.

The Glamping Nomad does not control campground facilities, ferry services, walking tracks, weather conditions or other third-party services.

Guests are responsible for their own personal safety and the supervision of children in their care, while taking reasonable precautions appropriate to the natural camping environment.

Any incident involving our equipment or glamping setup should be reported to The Glamping Nomad as soon as possible. Emergencies should be reported to the relevant emergency services.

12. Environmental Responsibility

The Glamping Nomad values nature, the outdoors and the protection of Australia's natural environments.

As our tents are located within Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, we ask all guests to help protect the surrounding environment by:

  • Taking all rubbish with them or disposing of it in designated facilities.

  • Respecting native plants, animals and Aboriginal cultural heritage.

  • Staying on designated tracks and using authorised camping areas.

  • Following park rules relating to fires, noise and wildlife.

  • Avoiding unnecessary disturbance to other campers and the natural environment.

Guests must not leave food, rubbish or personal belongings behind when departing.

13. Group Bookings and Events

For school groups, family gatherings, private functions and other group bookings, additional arrangements may apply.

The person or organisation making a group booking is responsible for ensuring that all participants understand the conditions and comply with campground rules.

Any special requirements, additional services, payment schedules or event-specific cancellation terms must be agreed in writing before the booking is confirmed.

The Glamping Nomad reserves the right to refuse a booking or decline a requested arrangement where it cannot be accommodated safely, lawfully or operationally.

14. Liability and Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

To the extent permitted by law, The Glamping Nomad is not responsible for loss or damage arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including third-party transport disruptions, campground closures, severe weather or guests' failure to follow safety instructions.

Nothing in this clause limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Guests remain responsible for their own personal belongings and for taking reasonable care of themselves and anyone in their care.

15. Privacy

Personal information collected during the booking process will be used for purposes associated with managing reservations, processing payments, communicating with guests and providing our services.

We will handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our Privacy Policy, where applicable.

Guests should refer to our Privacy Policy for further information about how personal information is collected, used, stored and disclosed.

The specific inclusions and conditions confirmed in your booking will take precedence over general promotional descriptions, subject to applicable law.

17. Amendments to These Terms

The Glamping Nomad may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The terms applicable to a confirmed booking will be those incorporated into the booking agreement, subject to any changes agreed with the customer and any rights or obligations imposed by law.

The latest version will be published on our website with its effective date.
